MA Population Studies of IIPS in Distance Learning Mode

Centre for Distance and Online Education, International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), deemed to be University and an autonomous Organization of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Govandi Station Road, Deonar, Mumbal-400088, has invited applications for admission to the Master of Arts in Population Studies through Distance Learning Mode, for the academic session 2023-2025.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in India or abroad in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved candidates). Applicants who are having master’s degrees and work experience will be given due weightage.

There are 150 seats available for this course. However, the Institute reserves the right to decide the number of students to be enrolled in each academic session depending upon the number of applications received.

Selection: Selection of candidates for the course will be done by a selection committee duly constituted by the Director of the Institute.

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD candidates will be considered as per the Government of India norms and the guidelines of the University Grants Commission.

Duration of Course: This course can be completed over a minimum period of two years to a maximum period of four years. In case, if a candidate is not able to complete the course in the given time period, the person can avail one-year extension after paying Rs. 11000/- (US $ 1250 for foreign learners) as an extension fee. A maximum of two such subsequent extensions will be permitted to complete the course.

The non-refundable Admission Processing Charges of Rs. 1000/- for General, Rs.500/- for OBC(NCL) & EWS, Rs. 250/- for SC/ST & PWD applicants and US $25 for foreign applicants should be paid online at https://www.iipsindia.ac.in/content/fee-payment

Applicants are required to send a hard copy of the application along with the supporting documents to reach ‘The Head, Centre for Distance and Online Education, International Institute for Population Sciences, Govandi Station Road, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088’, latest by March 20th 2023. Filled application may also be sent as softcopy by email to distanceeducation@iipsindia.ac.in writing subject CDOE_2023 Application_ name. Applications can also be submitted in hand to the Centre during office hours.
