KEAM 2023: Admissions to Professional Degree courses in Kerala- Apply by April 10

Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram-695001 has invited applications for admission to the Professional Degree Courses in Kerala for 2023-24.

Courses: (A) Medical: (i) MBBS (ii) BDS (iii) BHMS (Homoeo) (iv) BAMS (Ayurveda) (v) BSMS (Siddha) (vi) BUMS (Unani) (B) Medical Allied - (i) BSc. (Hons.) Agriculture (ii) BSc. (Hons.) Forestry (iii) BSc. (Hons.) Co-operation & Banking (iv) BSc. (Hons.) Climate Change & Environmental Science (v) B.Tech (Bio-Technology) (under K.A.U) (vi) Veterinary (BVSc. & AH) (vii) Fisheries (BFSc.) (C) B. Tech. (D) B. Pharm. (E) B.Arch.

All those seeking admission to any of these courses must apply as per this notification irrespective of whether the CEE is conducting entrance examination or not.

For Admission to Medical & Medical Allied courses, applicants should appear and qualify in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2023, conducted by NTA as admissions to these courses will be based on the rank/mark in NEET UG 2023. Those seeking admission to B.Arch. course should appear and qualify in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture on or before 30.06.2023. Architecture Rank list will be prepared by giving equal weightage to marks in NATA 2023 and marks in qualifying examination.

CEE will conduct Entrance Examination for admission to Engineering/Pharmacy Courses only, in the offline mode using OMR Answer sheets.

Engineering Entrance Examination will have two papers having 120 questions each. Paper-I with questions from Physics & Chemistry will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 17.5.2023. Paper-II with questions from Mathematics will be held from 2.30 pm to 5 pm on 17.5.2023. Entrance Examination for Pharmacy will have one paper with questions from Physics & Chemistry and will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 17.5.2023. This paper will be the same as Paper I of Engineering Entrance Examinations. All papers will have objective type, multiple choice questions. Each correct answer will get 4 marks while each incorrect answer will result in loss of 1 mark.

Engineering rank is prepared by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the score obtained in the Entrance Examination and the marks obtained in the final year of the qualifying examination for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, after effecting the standardization procedure as described in Prospectus at www.cee.kerala.gov.in/

B.Pharm Rank list will be prepared, on the basis of Index mark calculated from the score obtained in Paper-1 (Physics & Chemistry) of the Engineering Entrance Examination as described in the Prospectus. Details of the Examination, syllabus, rank list preparation etc; are given in the Prospectus.

Age: Applicants should complete 17 years of age as on the 31.12.2023. There is no upper age limit for Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS and BUMS Courses. For MBBS & BDS courses, upper age limit will be as per the Information Bulletin of NEET (UG)-2023. For other Medical Allied Courses, the age prescribed by the respective central councils will be applicable.

The detailed eligibility conditions such as Nationality, Nativity, Academic (including mark requirements and relaxation in marks for reserved categories) etc; are given in the Prospectus.

Application: Applications can be submitted online at www.cee.kerala.gov.in/ latest by 5 pm on 10.4.2023. Class X Certificate, Date of Birth and Nativity Proof are to be uploaded by this time limit. Other required certificates / documents should be uploaded by 5 pm on 20.4.2023. Applicants can choose one or more of the 4 streams of courses available- Engineering, B.Pharm, Architecture and Medical &Medical Allied in a single application. Those applying for the Engineering stream and desirous of admission to B.Pharm course must choose B.Phamr course also in addition to Engineering even though the entrance test for B.Pharm is same as Paper I of Engineering entrance examination.

Application Fee: application fee for applying for Engineering only/B.Pharm only/both Rs. 700/-. To apply for Architecture only/Medical &Medical Allied only/both, application fee is Rs.500/-. To apply for 3 or 4 of Engineering; B.Pharm, Architecture; Medical &Medical Allied, it is Rs.900/-. For SC the application fee would be Rs. 300/-, Rs.200/- and Rs. 400/- respectively. There is no application fee for ST applicants. Those opting Dubai (UAE) as the Centre for Entrance Examination, will have to remit an additional fee of Rs.12,000/- along with the application fee. Candidates can remit the application fee by 5 pm on 10.4.2023 either Online or using e-chalan.
