Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for admission to the various Under Graduate Programs offered at the Institute for 2021-22.

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for admission to the various Under Graduate Programs offered at the Institute for 2021-22.

The Programs are (i) B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering (ii) B. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics) (iii) Dual Degree (B.Tech in Engineering Physics + Master of Science/ M.Tech in one of (i) Master of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics (ii) Master of Science in Solid State Physics (iii) M. Tech in Earth System Science and (iv) M. Tech in Optical Engineering.

The B. Tech programme in Aerospace Engineering at IIST is oriented towards the needs of Space Technology, and has significant overlap with Mechanical Engineering. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) (Avionics) programme offers a well-knit symbiosis of Electrical, Electronics, Communication Engineering and Computer Science and provides a special focus on Avionics which covers electronics related to aerospace systems. The Dual Degree Programme (DD) involves the study of the combined disciplines of Physics, Mathematics and Engineering. There is no exit option after B Tech in the Dual Degree Program.

Eligibility: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission. Applicant should have been born on or after October 1, 1996. Those belonging to SC/ ST and PD categories born on or after October 1, 1991 can apply.

For 2021-22 admissions, applicant should have passed one of the Plus 2 examinations listed in the UG Brochure. They include the examinations conducted by Central Boards such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; State Boards, Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects; H.S.C. vocational examination etc.

Applicant should have secured the minimum Marks in JEE (Advanced) 2021 in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and aggregate as specified in the UG Brochure. The minimum marks needed in each of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry would be 4% marks and at least 16% marks in aggregate. For EWS/ OBC-NCL it will be 3.6% marks in each and 14.4% marks in aggregate and for SC/ ST/ PD, 2% in each and 8% marks in aggregate.

Application: Application can be submitted online at http://admission.iist.ac.in latest by 3 pm on October 20, 2021. Application fee is Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for females and SC/ST/PD applicants.

IIST Admission Rank List will be prepared based on the aggregate marks scored in JEE (Advanced) 2021 Examination subject to satisfying the minimum marks prescribed.
