Entrance exam for Craft Instructor Training courses: Apply by June 27


Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India, has invited applications for the All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) for Craft Instructor Training Courses, August 2020.

The Craft Instructor Training Scheme aims to train Instructor trainees in the techniques of transferring hands-on skills, in order to train semi-skilled/skilled manpower for industry.

Structure of the training programme is so designed that Comprehensive training both in skills and training methodology is imparted to the instructor trainees to enable them to be conversant with techniques of transferring hands-on skills and to train skilled manpower for the industry.

At present craft instructors are trained in 34 Trades and the training is conducted in 28 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTI), 6 State Government Institute of Training of Trainers (IToT) and 12 Private Institute of Training of Trainers. These courses are conducted under the aegis of National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT). On successful completion of the course trainee shall be awarded Craft Instructor Training Certificate by NCVT recognized by Government of India.

A candidate trained in CITS scheme can work as instructor in Industrial Training Institutes and impart efficient Skill Training, as a certified Instructor can impart training under any skill development short term and long term scheme. They can also work as training coordinators in Industries for workers, compete with global training in the field of vocational training, prepare Written Instructional Materials (WIM) for Vocational Training, become a Test Item writer etc.

Selection to the Craft Instructor Training Scheme will be based on an All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) to be conducted by the DGT followed by centralized Counselling.

Eligibility: Applicant should have National Trade Certificate (NTC)/National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) (NCVT certificate in relevant trade) or Diploma / Degree from a recognized Board of Technical Education/University or equivalent.

Those undergoing training under Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) who are going to appear in final exam of All India Trade Test (AITT), those who are going to appear in final semester of Degree/ Diploma during July’ 2020, can also apply for AICET but their final admission in CITS courses will be subjected to successful completion of their training under CTS/successful completion of their Degree/Diploma. Detailed entry qualification related to each trade is available in Annexure-II of the detailed Advertisement at http://www.nimionlineadmission.in/2020/. SCVT and CoE candidates are not eligible.

There is no upper Age limit.

Examination Pattern: The online entrance examination to be held on 19th and 20th July 2020 will be of two hours’ duration with objective type (multiple choice type) questions. 75% of the questions will be of ITI level related to the trade applied for admission and 25% questions will be pertaining to Aptitude (Logical, Numeric and Reasoning). Syllabus for the trades and exam is provided in the website. Mock Examination will be available during 13th July to 18th July, 2020.

Examination Centres: Agartala, Allahabad(Prayagraj), Ambala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Ghaziabad, Haldwani, Hisar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Karnal, Kolkata, Kurukshetra, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Panipat, Patna, Rajpura, Roorkee, Shimla, Solan, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Tura, Vadodara.

Application: Applications can be submitted at http://www.nimionlineadmission.in/2020/ latest by 5 p.m on 27.06.2020. Entrance Examination Fee is Rs. 500/- for General and all other candidates and Rs. 300/- for SC / ST / PH / EWS / Women candidates. The fee can be paid online using Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card.

Hall Ticket can be downloaded from website during 13th July-18th July, 2020.

Results are expected by 1st August, 2020.

The allotment of seat in an institute will be finalized by respective Institute during counselling solely on the basis of merit (marks secured in the AICET)and as per the choices mentioned by the candidate in his application as well as considering the reservation norms. Schedule of counselling is given in the Notification.
