Doctoral Program in Management (PhD) at IIM Visakhapatnam; Apply by March 15

Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), has invited applications for admission to the Doctoral Program in Management (PhD) for 2021.

Areas of Specializations include; Decision Sciences, Economics, Finance & Accounting, Information Systems, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, Production & Operations Management, Strategy.

Those joining are expected to complete the programme within 5 years.

Eligibility: Applicant should have a (i) Master's Degree (Bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a Master’s degree) or a Post Graduate Diploma (2 years) in any discipline, with at least 55% marks in the Bachelor’s as well in the Master’s degrees or (ii) professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 50% marks and B.Com/Degree with 55% marks or (iii) 4 year / 8 semesters Bachelor's degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. There is 5% marks relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

Test Scores: Applicants are required to have a valid test score, from any one of CAT/GMAT/GRE/UGC-JRF/CSIR-UGC-NET/GATE / JRF(NET) valid as on March 15, 2021 (11:00 am) as per the area(s) of specialization they are applying to. Details are given in the Notification.

Application: Applications can be submitted online latest by 11 am on March 15, 2021 at An applicant can apply to a maximum of two areas of specialization.

Application Fee: Application fee is Rs. 500/- for all candidates which may be paid online.

Selection: Based on the information provided by the applicants, applicants will be shortlisted and called to Visakhapatnam for interview expected to be held in the third week of May 2021. Admissions will be based on the applicant’s performance in GMAT/GRE, CAT/GATE/ JRF (NET) score, past academic performance, interview performance, etc.

Those selected for admission are required to attend an Orientation and Preparatory Programme which is expected to be scheduled during the last week of June 2021. Registration for the programme will be in the last week of June 2021.

Financial Support: PhD students in good standing will receive a stipend of Rs. 30,000/- per month in the first year with a 10% annual increment up to a maximum of five years in addition to a tuition fee waiver. Other financial support made available to students includes: Contingency grant Rs 75,000/- (in Year 1) and Rs 25,000/- (annually from Year 2 to Year 5) to meet expenses on purchasing books, out of station visits for data collection, other research-related work, etc.; HRA for married students who live off-campus, monthly Rs. 7,500/ or rent whichever is less; International Conference grants of up to Rs.3,00,000/- and National Conference grants of up to Rs. 60,000/- towards accepted papers (prior approval needed).
