Direct Admission of Students Abroad: Apply by September 20 2022

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, has invited applications under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA), 2022, a scheme of Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Under the scheme, admissions will be offered to Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/Non- Resident Indians (NRIs)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) to Under Graduate Engineering & Architecture Programmes in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and other premier Technical Institutions in India. There are 15% supernumerary quota seats under DASA

The provisional list of 62 participating institutions which are covered under DASA scheme 2022 for admission to UG programmes in Engineering/ Architecture/ Planning are given in the Information Brochure UG Admission available at

Some Institutes offer 5-year dual degree programmes B.Tech. + M.Tech./ MBA in various disciplines.

Eligibility: Applicant should have been born on or after October 01, 1997 and must have passed Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent examination from any system of education with Mathematics, Physics and one of Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology in 11th and / or 12th, as applicable in the respective boards. Those expecting their final results of Senior Secondary latest by December 31, 2022 may also apply.

For Architecture, applicant should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or passed 10+3 diploma with Mathematics as compulsory subject.

For Planning, applicant should have passed 10+2 with Mathematics.

Applicant should have a valid JEE(Main)-2022 rank.

Residential Requirement: Foreign nationals studying in any country including India or Indian nationals studying abroad who fulfil prescribed admission criteria are eligible. The prescribed admission criteria for Indian Nationals shall be at least two years of education, inclusive of 11th & 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a foreign country during the last 8 years and must have passed the qualifying examination from abroad.

Reservation for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWG): 5% seats within 15% of supernumerary quota of DASA, are reserved for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (i.e., 1/3rd seats from DASA quota is reserved for CIWG). Countries under CIWG are United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. For CIWG quota, applicant has to produce all the documents listed in the Information Brochure as proof of either parent working in a gulf country. Application: Applications for admission under DASA scheme can be registered online with supporting documents at latest by 20.9.2022. Application fee may be paid online.
