Central Institute of Indian Languages, Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of India; Manasagangotri, Mysuru-570 006 has invited applications for admission to the 10-Month Diploma in Language Training to be held during July 2023 - April 2024.
The Training programme is offered in Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Orlya, Punjabi, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu at the Seven Regional Language Centres situated at Mysuru, Bhubaneswar, Pune, Patiala, Solan, Lucknow and Guwahati. The languages offered at each centre is given in the Prospectus that can be downloaded from https://www.ciil.org/ltp.aspx
Eligibility: Applicant should not have any formal degree, native/nativised proficiency or informal knowledge in the language applied for. Applicants should not have been trained in any of the languages at the Regional Language Centres or have discontinued or have been terminated from the Regional Language Centres. Applicant can select a language from the list provided in Table 1 of the Prospectus available at https://www.ciil.org/ltp.aspx. Applicants should not have any formal degree or informal knowledge in the language. It should not be the Official language of the state in which applicant lives. Change in the language choice and change of category and change of the Centre is not permissible after joining the training programme. Preference of language should be clearly mentioned in the application failing which, seats will be allotted according to the vacancies available in the Regional Language Centres. If a candidate is selected in a particular year and if they have not reported to the language training, their candidature will not be considered for next 3 years.
Applicant must be below 50 years of age as on 5th July 2023. Age relaxation may be considered only for In-service Teachers by the competent authority.
In-service teachers, prospective teachers, research scholars and general public may apply.
The essential qualifications for the four categories are given below: (i) In-service Teachers- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years teaching experience in a Primary/Higher Primary/High school in Government/Fully Government-aided schools (ii) Prospective Teachers- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education (B.Ed./M.Ed.) or. B.El.ED. or D.El.Ed or TET qualified candidates (iii) Research Scholars- Ph.D. pursuing scholars or NET/SET/SLET qualified candidates (iv) General Public - A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or a Diploma from a recognised university or Ph.D. completed/awarded from any recognised University
The Training programme will be conducted in online mode which includes Basic Training programme for 3 months from July to September, Intermediate Training programme for 3 months from October to December and Advanced Training programme for 4 months from January to April. All the three Training programmes includes 15 days’ contact classes in Basic, Intermediate and Advanced conducted at the respective Centres.
Application may be filled and submitted either online or Offline at https://apply.ciil.org under the ‘Diploma Application’ section. Applicant who applies Online has to send the hard copy of the application also. Those desirous of submitting application Offline may download the Application from website and submit by post to ‘The Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangothri, Mysuru- 570006’.
Application fee of Rs.150/- may be remitted either through QR code or through a Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalised Banks payable at New Delhi. In-service teachers must submit their application through proper channel
