Government College of Art, Chandigarh Administration; Sector 10-C, Chandigarh; affiliated with Panjab University and approved by AICTE, has invited applications for admission to the Diploma and Degree Programs for the session 2022-23.

Admissions will be offered for Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Diploma in Fine Arts for Divyang. The Programs are offered in the field of Applied Art, Painting, Graphics (Print-Making) & Sculpture. The courses are of four years’ duration. There are 15 seats in each specialization for BFA and 1 seat in each specialization for Diploma in Fine Arts for Divyang.

Of the total seats, 60% seats are reserved under for Chandigarh Pool (UT) and 40% for All India pool. Details are given in the prospectus https://gcart.edu.in/bfa_dfad.php

Eligibility: Bachelor of fine Arts: Applicant should have passed in 12th (10+2)/equivalent Examination with a minimum 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/PWD)

DFAD (Diploma in Fine Arts for Divyang): Applicant should have passed Secondary (10th)/equivalent examination with a minimum of 35% marks.

Those who have appeared in the qualifying examination may also apply for the applicable course.

Aptitude Test: As part of the selection process, an Aptitude Test will be held during 11.07.2022 and 17.07.2022. Exact dates of the particular roll no will be notified through college website on 05.07. 2022.

The Aptitude Test got BFA will have questions from (i) General Knowledge (General knowledge about Art & English Comprehension (Written Paper) (10 am to 11 am – 20 marks) (ii) Object Drawing (Drawing of 2 or 3 objects with light and shade in pencil or charcoal on half- imperial size paper (11 am to 12.30 pm-65 marks) (iii) Composition (Composition from memory on a given subject in Poster, Water or Pastel colours on half-imperial size paper) (1.30 pm to 3 pm- 65 marks). For DFAD, questions will be from Object Drawing and Composition each carrying 75 marks. Details can be seen in the Prospectus.

Qualifying in Aptitude Test: For BFA Fine Arts, applicant should obtain 40% aggregate marks (35% for SC/ST/PwD) in the aptitude test. Those obtaining 35% marks in the aptitude test will qualify for admission to Diploma in Fine Arts for Divyang.

Selection: The final selection list will be prepared by giving 40% weightage for the marks in qualifying examination and 60% marks in the Aptitude Test.
