Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NS NIS), Patiala under Sports Authority of India (SA), has invited application for admission to the Diploma Course in Sports Coaching 2023-24.
Admission will be given in the following Sports Disciplines: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing & Kayaking, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table-Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Wushu and Yoga. Admissions are offered in different categories. In direct admission for Eminent Sports Persons (Category-A(I)), applicant should have passed 10+2 and should have represented India in Olympics or should have participated in Senior World Championship or should have won a Medal in Asian/Commonwealth Games.
In Category-A (II) for international sports persons, applicant should have passed 10+2 and participated in any of Olympic Games, Senior World Championship, Asian Games/Senior Asian Championship, Commonwealth Games/Senior Commonwealth Championship or Youth Olympics.
In Category-B, applicant should have Graduation. Applicant should have (i) Participation in Major International recognized competition or (ii) participation in any of the following- Recognized Senior National Championships/Khelo India University Games/All India Inter University games or (iii) Two times participation in any of Recognized Junior/Youth National Championship; Inter Services/Inter Railways Championships/All India Police Games; Khelo India Youth/Khelo India School Games or (iv) Successful completion of SAI, NS NIS Six Week Certificate Course in Sports Coaching (in their respective sports coaching discipline only).
Category-C (For North-East Candidates): Applicant should have Graduation and should be (i) Medal Winner in North East Games or (ii) Two times participation in North East Games or (iii) Fulfil the criteria as mentioned in category B.
Age: Applicant shall be 21-45 years of age as on 7.4.2023. Upper Age relaxation up to 5 years shall be given to (i) those who have participated in Olympic Games/Senior World Championship/Asian Games/Senior Asian Championship/Commonwealth Games/Senior Commonwealth Championship (ii) Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category (iii) In service and Ex-service candidates from Armed Forces of India.
Selection: As part of the selection process, online admission test will be conducted at centres in India and abroad on 14th May 2023, Sunday (tentative). Syllabus for the test includes Specialised Sport theory Test, General knowledge, Logical reasoning and coaching aptitude, Language and communication test, Basic computer knowledge.
The final selection of candidates (subjected to Physical and medical fitness) shall be based on a merit list considering marks for Educational Qualifications, Sports Achievements, Virtual Interview, and marks in various sections of the Online test. Details are given in the Notification.
Applicants under Category A (I) are exempted from the selection test and Interview.
Application: Application can be submitted online at https://www.dipsc.nsnis.in latest by 7th April, 2023. Application fee of Rs.1500/- can be paid online. Those awaiting final year result of graduation/10+2 can also apply provisionally.
Correction Window will be open on 8th April and 9th April 2023.
