National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), under the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt of India; located at Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, Telengana-500030, has invited applications for admission to two Diploma Programs of the Institute.
The Post Graduate Diploma in Plant Health Management (PGDPHM) of 2 semesters durations aims to develop a highly committed and competent cadre of agricultural professionals to promote environmentally sustainable plant health and biosecurity management in India and her neighbourhood. The course has total of 40 credits. The programme consists of four major components - Participatory learning in classroom and laboratory; Field visits for enhancing observational skills; Agro-ecosystem based analysis through Farmers Field Schools (FFS) and Specialization in one of (i) Biocontrol Input Production Management (ii) Biosecurity Incursion Management (iii) Pesticide Management (iv) Vertebrate and Structural Pest Management (v) Plant Health Engineering, during 2nd semester.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold B.Sc. (Agri. or Hort.)/ B.Sc. in Agri. & Rural Dev. / B. Tech. (Agri. Engg.)/ M.Sc. in Life Sciences. Five seats are reserved B Sc. (Chemistry) for PGDPHM with specialization in Pesticide Management only. Course Fee is Rs. 75000/- for unemployed youth payable in two instalments. Boarding charges will be as per prevailing rates of catering service (at present Rs. 240/ per day). However, accommodation will be provided free of cost. For the employees of private organization, the course is offered on full payment basis with fee of Rs.2, 00,000/-. Meritorious scholarships would be available for eligible candidates.
For admission to the Diploma in Plant Health Management (DPHM) of 1 Semester duration, applicants should be Graduates in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Life sciences/ B.Sc. in Agri. & Rural Dev/ B. Tech. (Agri. Engg.). The Course Fee is Rs.35,000/- for unemployed youth (payable in single instalment). Boarding charges will be as per prevailing rates of catering service (at present Rs. 240/ per day). However, accommodation will be provided free of cost.
