Applications have been invited for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)-2023, for admissions to Integrated first degree Programs at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani and its campuses at Goa and Hyderabad.
Programs: Integrated First degree programmes to which admissions will be made on the basis of BITSAT-2023 at different campus are the following: Bachelor of Engineering (BE): Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Manufacturing; B.Pharm; M.Sc: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics and General Studies. Those who join M.Sc. programmes (except General Studies) are eligible to apply for dual degree in Engineering at BITS Pilani after completion of one year. This assignment is made by competition on their performance at BITS at the end of first year. Details will be made available on BITS admissions website.
Eligibility: Applicant should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system / equivalent in 2022 or should be appearing for 12th examination in 2023. Those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for admission to all Programmes. Those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for admission t0 B.Pharm program. Applicant should have scored at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology and also obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
Structure of BITSAT: BITSAT-2023 to be conducted in 2 sessions. First session will be from May 21 to May 26, 2023 and the second session from June 18 to June 22, 2023. One can attend one or both sessions. If one attends both sessions, better of the two scores will be considered for selection.
It will be a Computer Based Online test of 3 hours’ duration. It will have objective type (multiple choice questions) from Physics (30 questions); Chemistry (30); English Proficiency (10); Logical Reasoning (20) and Mathematics/Biology (40). If a candidate answers all the 130 questions, he/she has an option to attempt 12 extra questions, if there is still time left, 3 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. One can apply for the first session or both sessions latest by 9th April 2023. List of examination centres is given in the Brochure. Those applying now for first session only, can apply for the second session later also when the application facility will be open for the second session. The fee to be paid is given in the Brochure. The time lines for each activity is also given in the Brochure.
In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT-2023, candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS later.
Direct Admission to Board Toppers: First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2023 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2023 score subject to the prescribed eligibility criteria. Details about this scheme will be available at BITS admission website later.
