The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for the Indian Council of Agriculture (ICAR) Entrance Examinations 2023 for admission to the Post Graduate and Doctoral Degree Programmes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (lCAR) for the academic session 2023-24.
All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) is for admission to Post Graduate degree Courses [AIEEA (PG)] and All India Competitive Examination (AICE) is for admission to Doctoral Degree Programmes and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) [AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D)] for Ph.D.
Seats: Admission to 30% seats in Master degree programmes in Agricultural Universities are through AIEEA (PG). All seats (100%) of the four ICAR-DUs namely, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) and CAUs (RLBCAU, Jhansi and Dr. RPCAU, Pusa) are also filled up through this examination. Further, not more than 40% candidates from any one state shall be admitted in any agricultural university in a particular subject and category.
ICAR-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) will be awarded on the basis of merit secured in the AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD)- 2023 examination leading to admission in Ph.D. degree programme in Agricultural Universities- State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticultural and Fisheries Universities (SAUs); ICAR-DUs (ICARIVRI, IARI, NDRI, CIFE); Central Agricultural University (CAU Imphal, Manipur, Dr. RPCAU Pusa) and Central such as Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Nagaland University (School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development) Universities having faculty of agriculture. The fellowship will not be available for admission in any university other than the AUs as mentioned above.

Eligibility: For admission to Master’s degree programmes through entrance examination conducted by NTA, applicant should have passed graduation with four/six (12+4/10+6 B.Sc. Ag./B.Tech.) / five years (B.V.Sc. & AH) / 5½ years (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree.
For Ph.D Entrance, applicant should have passed Master’s Degree programme with a minimum of Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) as given in Table 2 of the Information Bulletin of AICE. In cases, where grade- points are not awarded but marks are awarded, applicant must have secured a minimum percent score as shown in the Table 2 of the Information Bulletin of AICE.

Applications can be submitted online at https://icar.nta.nic.in latest by 5 pm on 16.06.2023.
For AIEEA PG, application fee is Rs. 1175/- (Rs. 1150/- for OBC-NCL/UPS/ EWS and Rs. 600 for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender). For AICE, it is Rs. 1875/- (Rs. 1850/- for OBC-NCL/UPS/ EWS and Rs. 950 for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender). Application fee can be paid through credit/debit card/Net banking /UPI till 11.50 pm on 16.06.2023.
Correction in particulars of application form can be done on the website during 18.06.2023 to 20.06.2023.
Date(s) of exam Will be announced later on NTA website. Examination of 2 hours’ duration will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) with Objective type, Multiple Choice questions.
