Directorate of Medical Education, Thiruvananthapuram-695 011, has invited applications for Admission to Merit seats of the 2 years Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology [M.Sc.(MLT)] course for the academic year 2022-23.

Program is available at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram and MIMS College of Allied Health Sciences, Kozhikode (Self Financing Sector) and is offered in three branches at both institutes - Microbiology, Biochemistry and Pathology. There are 4 seats for each branch at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram and 5 seats for each branch at MIMS College of Allied Health Sciences, Kozhikode (Self Financing Sector). Only Indian Citizens of Kerala origin are eligible for admission. Applicant should have passed the B.Sc. (MLT) Degree from any of the Universities in Kerala or from any other University recognized by Kerala University of Health Sciences, with a minimum of 55% marks for all the years of B.Sc. (MLT) Examination taken together. Applicants should satisfy the minimum requirements for admission by the last date for applying.

Age limit: 40 years for General category and 49 years for service quota as on date of Notification.

Selection: Selection of candidates including Service Quota, will be made through an Entrance Examination to be held at Thiruvananthapuram. The date and time of the Entrance Examination would be notified later. It will consist of one paper of 3 hours’ duration having Objective type multiple choice questions from Biochemistry (60 nos), Microbiology (60) Pathology (60), Haematology & Blood Banking (20). It will be of the standard of B.Sc (MLT) examination. Each question carries 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

To qualify the entrance examination and thereby become eligible to figure in the rank list for admission to M.Sc. (MLT) course, a candidate has to score 40% marks (35% for SEBC, PH, 40% Service candidate and 30% for SC/ST candidates).

The Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology will prepare the rank list of candidates who have qualified in the Entrance Examination. The Centralized Allotment Process for all seats in Government/Self Financing Colleges will be through a Single Window System (SWS) to be conducted by the Director, LBS Centre, under the supervision of the Director of Medical Education.

Applications can be submitted online at https://lbscentre.in/ latest by 10.6.2023. Application fee is Rs.1200/- (Rs.600/- for SC/ST). It can be paid online or paid in cash at any branch of Federal Bank using the Chalan that can be generated and downloaded from the Application website. Service quota applicants should remit the application fee in Treasury.
