National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) has invited applications for admission to the 2-year M.Sc. Hospitality Administration (HA) Program offered at 17 Institutes of Hotel Management across the country.
The Programme is recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University which will be awarding the Degree.
Admission to the Program will be given in two modes- admission through the M.Sc. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2023 and Direct Admission.
Admission through M.Sc. JEE: Applicant should have B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from NCHMCT-IGNOU or Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management from a recognized University and an AICTE approved Institute. Those appearing in the final semester/final year exam (but passed all the papers in all earlier semesters/years) of the above said Degrees and who are able to submit their complete Bachelor’s Degree latest by 31st October 2023 can also apply. There is no age bar for admission to M.Sc. HA Program.
M.Sc. JEE will be held through CBT mode or through online mode (depending on number of applicants) from 10 am to 12 noon on 28th May 2023 (Sunday) at centres across the country. It will have 100 Multiple Choice Questions on hospitality related generic questions of graduate level as well as general knowledge, General English, and numeric aptitude. Each question will carry one mark and there will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. Application for MSc JEE 2023 can be submitted online at www.thims.gov.in or at www.nchm.gov.in, latest by 10th May 2023.
Application fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs.700/- for General EWS, Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender). The fee may be paid online as per the details given in the Brochure. It can also be paid by way of DD drawn in favour of NCHMCT payable at Noida or Delhi.
Candidate must send print out of the filled in online application along with proof of online payment/DD to reach NCHMCT, A-34, Sector 62, Noida 201309 to reach latest by 12th May 2023.
Direct Admission: 10% of seats in each Institute will be filled up under Direct Admission. Direct admission is provided to those who are having two-years or more working experience in 3-star and above rated hotel industry (Industrial training which is part of Degree not to be counted as working experience) after passing the B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from NCHMCT-IGNOU or holding Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management from a recognized University and Institute approved by AICTE by securing 55% or more aggregate marks. Selection will be based on the merit in the qualifying examination (UG Degree).
Application for direct admission can be submitted online at www.thims.gov.in or at www.nchm.gov.in up to 19th April 2023. Candidate has to send print out of the filled in online application along copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications and industry experience, which should reach NCHMCT, A-34, Sector 62, Noida 201 309 latest by 21st April 2023. Eligibility of the applicants will be communicated through e-mail by 1st May 2023 enabling the ineligible candidates (in terms of industry experience) to apply for M.Sc. JEE 2023 for which the online portal will be open till 10th May 2023.
Eligible candidates can apply for both modes - direct admission as well as for M.Sc. JEE by submitting separate applications.
