The Supreme Court was shocked and astounded to discover that judges of lower judiciary were writing judgments in UP, flagrantly violating its directions. Directions issued by the SC are regarded as the law of the land, binding on all Indian courts. But the situation in UP was so alarming, some of the lower court judges were found blatantly disregarding the SC directions.

It should be noted that the SC caught hold of the Lucknow sessions judge for his faulty orders and sent him immediately to the judicial academy for proper training. He shall now learn how to write judgments and develop other skills as well.

It is so messy. Incompetent judges will lead to gross misuse of justice, eventually breaking down the whole system. It is so sad that it took so long for the SC to spot the gory misconduct which eroded its credibility.

Shockingly, several directions were given by SC regarding arrest and bail in different cases, but none of them were followed by the lower courts in UP. This would have caused serious prejudice. Shockingly, both the Supreme Court and litigants were unaware of the situation.

The SC has directed the Allahabad High Court to make a thorough enquiry into the issue and file affidavits as to how many violations have occurred so far.
