The Supreme court has directed that digital mapping is essential to detect encroachments and this modern system has to be fully utilised and implemented by state governments.

Land revenue records can be fully digitalised and the staff of revenue departments can be effectively trained, the court observed.

The National Remote Sensing Agency is of great importance and the state governments have to get advice in all matters for digitalising revenue records, the Court directed.

Geo fencing is another landmark achievement by which digital fencing can be implemented. That can effectively safeguard the areas.

Forest encroachments are done in many states with the connivance of political parties. That can be monitored by geo fencing.

The court said that effective maintenance of land revenue records is most essential and state governments have to change accordingly in tune with modern technologies.
