Why author U A Khader called his better half Fathima a guardian angel?
Koyilandy (Kozhikode): Renowned author late UA Khader's better half Fathima Beevi was always an inspiration and pillar of support for him. She breathed her last on Monday months after the demise of the Thrikkottur's story writer.
Born in Burma (Now Myanmar), UA Khader was brought up in Koyilandy which is his father's place. The backdrop of his stories was shifted from Panthalayani to Thrikkottur after marrying Fathima who hails from Thikkodi.
Fathima was a complete village girl at the time of marriage and remained a homemaker later. However, UA Khader himself had stated that she inspired him a lot, revealed NE Harikumar who directed a documentary on UA Khader's literary life.
The interaction with Fathima helped Khader absorb the local slang easily and know the folk tales of Thrikkottur. Khader used to say that Fathima was a guardian angel for him as he always went through alienation in terms of native place, language and friendship since his birth and she gave him strength.
