It happened when the movie ‘Thenkasipattanam’ was released. The movie was a huge hit and the key people behind the movie went for an event in Thiruvananthapuram. On the morning of the event day, everyone decided to go to Kanyakumari. Salim Kumar who doesn’t visit temples unexpectedly decided to go with them.
Everyone who reached Kanyakumari was busy offering rituals at the temple. Vadamala, padamala…the list of rituals goes. Since the movie was a huge hit and was likely to change everyone’s lives and career and seeing everyone with him offering rituals, Salim also decided to offer a ritual. He feared, otherwise, the goddess might get angry at him.
He first looked at the list of rituals at the temple to find the cheapest one. Finally, he chose one from the list that costs Rs 2 to offer in the name of his family members. As he reached near the temple priest waiting in the queue, the priest asked him the names of Salim’s family members. He named it one by one and he was stuck with his youngest son’s name. He couldn’t remember the name even after trying so hard and finally started scratching his head in stress. Soon, actor Dileep uttered the name loud from behind the queue, ‘Aromal……’.
“I have a problem of forgetting names. This is what happened at Kanyakumari. Will anyone believe this? Does anyone forget the name of his son? But I did. This has put me in trouble many times in life,” said Salim Kumar about his forgetfulness.
