Kochi International Book Festival lures readers with books in 7 languages

Kochi: Luring book lovers, the latest edition of Kochi International Book Festival is progressing at Ernakulathappan Ground here. There are 210 book stalls containing books in seven languages. Over 300 publishers including Mathrubhumi Books and National Book Trust are taking part in the festival.

Children’s book festival is separately organised where huge discount has been announced by the publishers. Rare books are available at the stalls of Grolier international, ICHR, IGNCA, Islam International Publications, Motilal Banarsidass Publishers, National Book Trust of India, National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language.

Mathrubhumi Books brings popular books

Mathrubhumi Books has introduced books like ‘Samudrasila’ by Subhash Chandran, ‘Soosannayude Grandhappura’ by Ajay P Mangatt and ‘Hydrangea’ by Lajo Jose which gained huge popularity and had record-breaking sales.

Also classic books like ‘Randamoozham’, ‘Kalam’, ‘Oru Sankeerthanam Pole’ and ‘Tottochan’ are available at Mathrubhumi book stall. Attractive discounts will be given when books are purchased for Rs 1000 and above. A discount of 20 percent will be given for children’s books.

Notion Press gives hope to writers

Notion Press Publishers is a unique presence in the book festival venue. They publish books of writers who are struggling to get their works published. Normally, writers will have to wait for years to get their book published. But Notion Press helps them to publish within one week and that too free of cost.

The published books are sold through Amazon, Flipkart and Notion website. At present, Notion Press publishes books in eight languages including Malayalam, Tamil, English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali and Gujarati.

The festival which began on November 29 will conclude on December 8.
