Indian English writer A. Khyrunnisa’s latest book ‘Tongue in Cheek: The Funny Side of Life’ was released by MP Shashi Tharoor. The book was released in a function held at Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram.
After releasing the book, Shashi Tharoor said that Khyrunnisa has presented many funny incidents in a very skilful way. The book comprises of the notes written by Khyrunnisa in the column ‘Inside View’. After the book release, a discussion between Khyrunnisa and young writer Manu S. Pillai also was held.
Author of the popular ‘Butterfinger’ series, Khyrunnisa is already admired for her hilarious style of writing. In the new book ‘Tongue in Cheek: The Funny Side of Life’, she narrates the daily life of a modern urban woman in a quite humorous way. This is her first book for adults.
Khyrunnisa has published six books in the ‘Butterfinger’ series titled ‘Of Course It’s Butterfingers!’, ‘Run, It's Butterfingers Again!’, ‘The Misadventures of Butterfingers’, ‘Clean Bowled, Butterfingers!’, ‘Goal, Butterfingers!’ and ‘Howzzat Butterfingers!’.
Apart from the series, Khyrunnisa has also penned a book of animal stories for children titled ‘The Lizard of Oz and Other Stories’ in 2019. She hails from Thiruvananthapuram and was an English professor at All Saints’ College there.
