Reading can be curing; Kottayam ICH initiates library for children
Gandhi Nagar: The Institute of Child Health (ICH) at Kottayam Medical College has initiated a positive move by opening a library for children as part of its Children’s Day celebrations. Director Jayaraj marked the beginning of the library by handing over the first book to a child who arrived at the hospital on Wednesday.
SFI workers of Kottayam Medical College unit are the organisers of the venture. They said that the library is set up with an intention to give relief to the children who are destined to remain in the hospital at a very young age.
The books for the library were collected from students, teachers and other volunteer organisations. Jayaraj offered books worth Rs 10,000 to the library. He also informed that he will spend Rs 10,000 for the library during the shooting of each of his upcoming films.
