Dr Sabrina translates 'Atmopadesa Satakam' into Italian
Italian philosopher-poet Dr Sabrina Lei is busy in translating the work ‘Atmopadesa Satakam’ of Sree Narayana Guru which enlightens the principles of fraternity and mutual love. The Italian translation of the work will be published next month by Tawasul International Centre in Rome.
Tawasul International Centre for publishing, Research and Dialogue has been devoted to building bridges between different faiths through social interventions and active discussions. Dr Sabrina is also the director of Tawasul Europe.
She received the help of Sachidananda Swami of Chalakkudy Gayatri ashram in preparing the work. Along with the translation, she has also included the ideologies of Sree Narayana Guru and its influence on the society.
Dr Sabrina came to know about the Indian philosophies and myths after her marriage to Kannur native Prof Abdul Latheef. She had already translated many texts including Bhagavad Gita into Italian and now she is working on the translations of Upanishads and Mahabharat.
Her other major works are the translations of ‘Balyakalasakhi’ by Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer and Thakazhi’s ‘Chemmeen’. Actor Innocent’s ‘Laughing Cancer Away’, published by Mathrubhumi Books was also translated to Italian by Sabrina.
