‘Little Wild Library’: Forest dept arranges bookstalls for tourists in Thekkady
Kumily (Idukki): The forest Department has arranged two small bookstalls for the tourists who visit Thekkady.
Two bookstalls named ‘Little Wild Library’ are set up here in order to allow the tourists to read at a peaceful location after enjoying boat rides and other fun.
Books, newspapers and magazines are placed inside small book shelves at Vanasree and Bamboo Grove near Anavechal parking ground.
Novels, stories, poems, articles and children’s literature of various languages are available in the bookstalls. The books should be returned after reading. The library will function at all times whenever the tourists are allowed to enter the place.
The travellers can read the books sitting under tree shades. The local residents also can utilise the facility. The bookstall for the tourists is the brainchild of Periyar Tiger Sanctuary East Division Deputy Director Shilpa V. Kumar.
