Kadalundi: A giant cucumber that has a length of 24 inches and weighing 7.5 kg was harvested from a farm in Kadalundi. The giant cucumber was got from the farm of Oottukalathiul Krishnan. He planted an indigenous variety of cucumber.
All cucumbers grown on a vine were similarly larger than usual in size. Even the newly grown cucumbers ware large. However, the cucumbers on other vines are normal in size. The farming was done in organic method.
Krishnan and his son Akhil together cultivates in the land. They plan to keep the seeds of the giant cucumber and to sow in the next season. Assistant agriculture director S. Sheela and ward member Dinachandran also were present during the harvest of the giant cucumber.
