16-yr-old boy earns Rs 30,000 per month through hatchery business
Kollam: Ashar Ibnu is only 16 years old and is waiting for higher education after completing class 10 scoring A Plus grades in all subjects. But he is already earning Rs 30,000 which not many teenagers are capable of achieving at his age. A student of Thazhava Adithya Vilasam Government High School, Ashar developed an egg incubator all by himself and started hatchery business.
When Ashar was in class 7, he developed an egg incubator with his friend Althaf and presented it in the science fair. But he could not win any prize there. The boy did not get disappointed and continued researching more into it with the help of YouTube. Thus he gradually developed a modern variety of incubator.
Ashar made a box using thermocol and fitted bulb, thermostat and small fan on them to make the incubator. Finally, he successfully hatched 50 of the 70 eggs kept in it. He made it at a cost of Rs 600 only. After taking care of the chicken for one month, he sold them for Rs 100 for one. As it fetched a decent profit, he gained confidence.
The young boy made more incubators in this way and hatched more eggs. Now he manages to hatch upto 350-400 eggs per month using 6 incubators. Apart from ordinary egg incubators, Ashar also makes automatic and semi-automatic incubators also. He makes them for other people according to demand.
In addition to all of this, Ashar also maintains a poultry farm with 200 chicken. From all these activities, he earns about Rs 30,000 per month.
He proudly says that he can handle the expenses for his own education and also help his father to make the ends meet. He wishes to pursue higher studies in science stream. His father Najeem, mother Sajitha and brother Ameer also encourage him.
