Drumstick leaves extract as organic growth hormone for plants
When the plants in out gardens fail to flourish or bear fruit in the right time, most of us take resort to growth hormones. However, the growth hormone formulas bought from the shops contain chemicals as opposed to the methods of organic farming.
An effective organic growth hormone is widely used in the African countries which gives upto 30-150 percent increase in crop production. This hormone is produced from a plant commonly found in our place – drumstick plant.
For Keralites, drumstick leaf is a delicious item in the kitchen. An inexpensive but effective growth hormone can be prepared using drumstick leaves.
- Collect at least 30-days-old drumstick leaves.
- Grind the leaves thoroughly in the mixer adding some water.
- Filter the juice using a cotton cloth or sieve.
- Add 16-20 times more water in the juice.
- Sprinkle it using a sprayer on the leaves of the crops.
- If the hormone is applied in tender crops, add 30 times more water in it.
Drumstick leaves growth hormone can be applied in many crops including vegetables. This hormone can be sprinkled after the seeds sprout, after 10 days, after one month and finally when the fruits start to form.
Drumstick leaves growth hormone is better to apply within 5 hours of making. The hormone can be kept in freezer to use it later. This solution is widely used in the crops in farms and greenhouses.
Drumstick leaves juice can speed up sprouting of seeds and boost its growth. It has been proved that adding drumstick leaves liquid in 2 percent thickness with Panchagavya (a concoction prepared by mixing five products of cow) is good for plants.
Drumstick leaves, being the most nutritious part of the plant, contains Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin A in the form of beta carotene, Vitamin K, Manganese, Protein and calcium oxalate in crystal form. Also it has cytokine hormones which boost plant growth.
