Let's make a vegetable garden at home this summer
Summer is the ideal time for vegetable cultivation. When sunlight is available in plenty, we can utilise it maximum for making a kitchen garden. Before starting cultivation, till the soil well because pathogens are present in the soil. A slight irrigation also is good.
Solarized soil filled in a transparent plastic sheet with 150-gauge size can be used for planting saplings. The soil should be solarized for at least a week. Add 2.5 kilograms of lime in the soil to balance its pH value. Then keep the soil slightly moist for one week.
Use dried cow dung powder, compost, vermicompost or green manure as organic fertilizer. This can be added 100 kilogram for one cent of plot. Mixing all types of organic fertilizers is the ideal method.
Spinach, okra, brinjal, long beans, green chilli, cucumber, beans, ivy gourd, snake gourd, bitter gourd and similar vegetables can be planted. Seeds should be dipped in pseudomonas solution before planting. This will help boost immunity.
Any plant tonic should be applied once in a week. Green decoction, Jeevamritham, fish amino acid or egg amino acid can be applied as tonic for plant growth. Organic pesticides can be used for pest control.
