Araza boi is a type of fruit tree that belong to the family of guava. Native to Brazil, Araza boi grows to the height of about 2 metres with many branches. The leaves are small and the tree blooms all year round. The white flowers are slightly fragrant too.
The fruits turn yellow when ripe and taste sweet and sour. It has a distinctive aroma. Ripe fruits can be consumed directly or after extracting its juice. The raw fruits are good for pickling.
Saplings can be produced by germinating the seeds collected from the fruits. The plant grows in any fertile and water permeable land. Plant starts bearing fruit within three years. Araza boi can also be grown as an ornamental plant in large flowerpots.
