Owner of first dog training centre in Idukki earns upto Rs 40,000 per month
Mariyapuram: The first dog training institute in Idukki district has been opened in the name ‘Secure Dog’ by Saji M Krishnan, a specialised dog trainer. Saji initiated this venture with the help of the State Kudumbashree Mission and the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Saji's training centre is home to a wide range of canine breeds, from Belgian Malinois, Rottweiler, Husky, Pug, Labrador, Dash and Pomeranian.
Within six months of its inception, more than 50 dogs have completed the training from ‘Secure Dog’ and 20 dogs are under training. “About Rs 40,000 per month is earned from this business”, said Saji.
The dogs are trained in obedience, personal safety and home and garden guarding. Almost 15 to 30 days of training is required to make the dog friendly with its master whereas it can take up to three months to train for guarding the home.
