Cherupuzha (Kannur): When the new generation is hesitant to work hard on the soil and learn agriculture lessons in life, a 9-year-old boy in Thirumeni is surprising everyone with his passion for agriculture and animal husbandry. Alex Jose, a class 4 student, is ready to feed the cows, clean the cow shed and give them a bath. He also milks two big cows easily.
Son of Jino Chembarathikkal, Alex Jose is a student of Archangels School in Cherupuzha. He learned the farm works from his father Jino and grandfather Jose. A traditional farmers' family, all of them are busy since morning. During the lockdown, Alex started helping his father and took up the responsibilities on his own.
Though the boy started with simple tasks, now he can manage even milking the cows. Alex regularly milks two of the seven cows in their farm. Jino runs a small shop in Thirumeni town. By the time he returns in the evening, Alex completes all the works in the farm and milks two cows. He is happy to do the works in the farm.
Jino is a dairy farmer who distributes more quantity of milk to the Thirumeni milk producers society. His father Jose and mother Rosamma had started rearing cows 40 years ago. Jino expanded their venture and developed a farm with 7 cows. His wife Shimmi and daughter Rose Mary also helps him.
Alex wants to complete his studies and become a veterinary doctor. The family is proud of Alex and his passion for agriculture. Even when he has classes, Alex completes his homework fast and starts helping his family. The boy is a model for all and has shown his willingness to work hard at a very young age.
