Haripad: The state agriculture department has informed that the fake campaigns against the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will invite legal actions. There have been many false news and voice messages from unknown sources being circulated on the social media against the scheme which led to unnecessary confusions over it.
The fake messages said that the land owned by those who receive the PM-KISAN scheme benefits will be added in the data bank, the applicant should have at least 10 cent land, the job should be recorded as farmer in ration card and similar things. Also there was rumour that only a very few people get the benefits, though lakhs of applications are submitted.
None of the messages are official notifications of the agriculture department. Director of Agriculture has issued a circular to the Principal Agricultural Officers stating that strict action will be taken against the baseless campaigns on the scheme. The circular also pointed out that many fake news, voice messages and videos are widely circulated on the social media regarding the PM-KISAN scheme.
The officers are directed to follow only the official orders and guidelines from the department after the false news misled even the officers. As per the instructions published by the agriculture department, government employees, income tax payers, those who have more than five-acre land and similar categories are not eligible to receive the benefit.
However, a new instruction has been issued that nobody’s application should be rejected. The ineligible applications should be marked with proper reasons and kept in the files. An application once received should not be returned. The director has also asked the officials to formally request for further clarifications on any matters.
