A young man who preferred cattle farming over engineering
Karukachal: Though the subjects which Jayakrishnan studied were circuits and resistors, he was always fond of cows. This 28-year-old youth has chosen cattle farming after completing studies in Engineering. He has done a three-year diploma from Pandalam NSS college in Electronics and Communication. But sfter studies, he didn't go in search of jobs. but instead he bought a cow.
He used the cow shelter in his aunt's house in the beginning. While some people were surprised to see his interest, some teased him. But he was determined that the job which he selected suited him.
In the span of 3 years, the number of cows increased to 8 with 8 calves. He is taking care of the farming all alone. He is doing it with the help of modern technology. He is cutting grass and getting milk by using machines.
Jayakrishnan said that his job was better when compared to the jobs in private companies which gave meagre salaries. He said that he found mental and financial satisfaction through his job.
Jayakrishnan dreams of developing his farm and producing milk and milk products for the people in his locality.
Nowadays, cattle farming has become a challenging field. However, profit can be gained if we have a hardworking mentality and help from the diary development department, says Jayakrishnan.
His parents, Madhusoodanan Pillai and Sudhakumari are in his whole hearted support.
