Madgaon: Kerala entered the semi-final of the 71st Santhosh Trophy football tournament beating Mizoram 4-1 in a Group B encounter at the Tilak Maidan here on Sunday.

Jobby Justin became the top scorer of the tournament taking his tally to four goals when he gave Kerala the lead in the seventh minute.

Two minutes later, Seesan S doubled Kerala's lead to give them a 2-0 lead going into the lemon break.

Mizoram then went a man down in the 27th minute when Lalfakzuala Fakzuala received his second boking for a reckless challenge. The numerical disadvantage took its toll in the second half as Kerala ran riot.

Substitute Asharuddin scored twice to give Kerala a more than comfortable lead and a boost to their goal difference.

Mizoram pulled one back four minutes before the final whistle when Lalrammawia Rammawia found the back of the net.

Mizoram though still have a chance to join Kerala and make it to the semis if they beat Railways in their final match in two days' time.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra kept their semi-finals hopes alive with a hard fought 1-0 win against Punjab in a Group B encounter at the GMC Stadium here on Sunday.

Vijith Shetty scored the winner in the second half after a barren first period.
