Pallippuram: A youth raised suicide threat from the top of a mobile network tower in Pallippuram in Cherthala. The man climbed up to 150 meters of the tower, and created a panic situation. At last, the fire and rescue personnel saved him after one-hour-long effort.

Pallippuram Kandathil Parambil Gireesan climbed up the tower on Monday morning and informed many of his acquaintances over phone that he was going to commit suicide. When he started shouting, people gathered beneath the tower. Fire force and police reached the spot. When their attempt to pacify the man failed, some of the fire force staff ascended the tower with equipment to rescue the person.

By the time, they reached the top, the man was exhausted and was unable to come down on his own. He was taken to the ground using a rope. Gireesan told police that he climbed the tower fearing threat from a Pallippuram native.
