Thiruvananthapuram: Opponents of development must be kept at bay for the common good of the society, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said Friday.

He said that some people are opposing government’s attempts to give electricity connection to more people, citing felling of trees.

"Another group of people are blocking the gas pipeline project. They should understand that they are actually curtailing the development of their state. We have to face some loss for the overall progress of the state,” the Chief Minister said.
