Thrissur: Principal in-charge of Peruvallur Mother College R U Muhammed Saleem, who is facing allegations of making lewd comments to girl students, has been removed from the post.

The action has been taken in the wake of students intensifying their agitation.

Police have registered a case against Saleem on a complaint filed by students.

The students have complained that the principal used to ask them personal matters after summoning them to his room. They also said that many questions had sexual overtones.

The students have also complained about the several cameras installed on the campus.

The issue over levying fine up to Rs 5000 for using mobile phones in the college was resolved in the discussions held the other day. However, the students continued the agitation as the management was not ready to remove the principal.
