Pinarayi directs strict action against moral policing
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said here today that strict instructions have been given to the police officials to act tough against moral policing. The chief minister in his Facebook page said he has directed to book a case in the Karunagapally moral policing incident where a girl had beaten a youth and had filmed the incident in her mobile phone and transmitted it through internet.
The video shows that the girls were attacking the boys along with other persons and the assailants were using offensive languages. “No one has the right to attack anyone or manhandle the common people. Uploading on Internet is absolute violation of laws. Those behind the attack will be brought before the law and strict instructions have been given to charge them,” Pinarayi said in his Facebook post.
The Chief minister said what everyone must try to understand is the situation that would happen if a boy and a girl speaking at a park or on the campus or at a common place is filmed and then transmitted through Net. These kind of criminal issues will not be permitted in Kerala. Pinarayi said that strict instructions have been given to police officials to deal with these kind of moral policing.
