Perumbavoor murder: Justice served after 19 months
The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court has pronounced death sentence for Ameer Ul Islam in the sensational Perumbavoor murder case. Assam-native Ameer was found guilty in the murder of a law student in Perumbavoor on Tuesday.
The murder took place on April 28, 2016. The verdict came 19 months after the incident. The inaction from the investigating officers and shortcomings in the post-mortem procedures led to the complexity of the case.
The revenue officials who are committed to prepare inquest in case of unusual death did not coordinate with police. No video of the post-mortem procedures were taken.
Finally, the prolonged justice was served to the law student after her family’s 19 months wait.
