Parents of Jishnu Pranoy to go on indefinite hunger strike
Thiruvananthapuram: Parents of Jishnu Pranoy, the student who committed suicide at Pambadi Nehru Engineering College, will start an indefinite hunger strike from March 27 in protest against the delay in arresting the accused in the case. Jishnu's parents, relatives and locals will participate in the hunger strike in front of the DGP office.
Even though 75 days have passed since the death of Jishnu, police have not been able to arrest the accused Vice -principal Shakthivel, Assistant professor Praveen, Vipin and PRO Sajith. Jishnu's parents are going to conduct the indefinite hunger strike in front of the DGP office in this scenario. Though Jishnu's parents met the chief minister, no action was taken.
Jishnu's mother said that they will come only after getting justice to her son.
The Thrissur district court had issued dismissed the anticipatory bail pleas of Shakthivel and Praveen.
The family of Jishnu Pranoy has also put forward the demands of action against the policemen who committed lapses in the investigation and to depute a special investigation team to arrest the accused in the case.
