Paravur temple fire: contractor’s son in custody
Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch on Monday took into custody the son of a fireworks contractor in connection with the Paravur temple fire.
Deepu, son of contractor Surendran, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
Deepu, who had accompanied Surendran to Paravur, sustained injuries in the accident. The Crime Brach team took him into custody from a hospital in Anayara.
Once discharged, he will be taken to the Crime Branch office in Kollam for interrogation. The police are trying to collect more information from Deepu since Surendran succumbed to the injuries.
The Crime Branch has also taken into custody Puttingal temple board member Suresh Babu.
Meanwhile, the High Court has postponed the hearing on bail plea submitted by another contractor Krishnankutty to April 29.
