No evidence to establish temple office bearers' claim
Kollam: There are no clues to establish the claims of the Paravur temple office bearers of having met the district collector to seek permission for the firework display. Police have so far not got any clue from the CCTV visuals and the hard disc seized from the collectorate to verify the claim. After the collector had rejected permission for the firework display, the temple office bearers had visited the Kollam district collector to seek permission.
The Crime Branch probe has revealed that the closed circuit TV was not functioning at the Collectorate. The Crime Branch will send the visuals obtained from the collector’s chamber to the forensic department for examination. The probe team has also seized documents relating to the Paravur firework display.
The temple office bearers had given a statement to the police of visiting the collector after she rejected permission for the fireworks display.
