Medical admission: Vellapally hails govt’s decision
Alappuzha: SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan on Sunday that it is a good thing that admission to self-financing medical colleges was brought under government control.
Vellapally said that the government order will be first implemented in medical colleges run by SNDP.
"The government should go forward with the new measures regarding admissions. This decision will help in everbody getting justice," he said.
Vellapally urged the government to take measures for the unification of fees and to take action against people who took crores of rupees as bribe.
The government on Saturday issued orders to conduct admissions to 50 per cent of merit seats in self-financing colleges from the list published by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
The remaining 50 per cent of seats, which are in the management and NRI quotas, should be filled up through NEET examination. The management will not be able to allocate seats from now on. With this order, the admission to self-financing medical colleges will come under government control. The government has issued directions to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in this regard.
