Mani group might aid CPM in Chengannur
Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) is preparing to move out of independency and become a part of a Front. Congress’ repeated invitation to join them can be seen as their strategy after knowing this.
At this point the stand taken by Mani in the Chegannur by-election is vital. During the Vengara by-election, his party has supported the Muslim league. He had said that it was not the support towards UDF and will always move forward as independent.
But the independent stand of KC(M) might help CPM in the Chengannur by-election. Mani had said that he will disclose the party’s decision after discussions within. Chengannur is a stronghold of KC(M).
Kerala Congress (Joseph) has already indicated that they are not to join the journey to CPM. At the same time Mani’s statement that he is not thinking of re-joining the UDF has also caught attention.
KC(M) is expecting a favourable decision in the bar bribery scam. Mani had strongly responded to the allegations raised by CPI as there exists an opinion that keeping silence won’t benefit anymore.
