Kollam: An Ernakulam- Thiruvananthapuram (Volvo AC) low-floor bus of Kerala Urban Road Transport Corporation (KURTC) caught fire on Thursday.

None of the passengers were injured in the incident. The fire broke out when the bus was nearing the Kollam Collectorate.

The driver stopped the bus after the panel showed danger signal and a burning smell emanated from the engine. On inspection, the fire was noticed near the engine and efforts began to douse it. Fire Force personnel also reached the spot. The bus belonged to the Thevara depot.

There were 30 passengers in the bus at the time of the incident.
