Palakkad: An allegation has been raised that Nehru Group chairman P Krishnadas misled the court to secure anticipatory bail in connection with the case relating to the suicide of Pampady Nehru engineering college student Jishnu Pranoy.

Krishnadas secured the bail by pointing out that he has to participate in the meeting called by Collector on the issue of the reopening of the College.

However, the District Collector told Mathrubhumi News that he had invited only the Principal to participate in the meeting.

While granting bail, the court had ordered that Krishnadas should not be arrested for five days.

The allegation that Krishnadas misled the court had come up when the court is about to consider the case on February 21.

The court will also decide whether to extend Krishnadas' bail when it considers the case on February 21.

Krishnadas is the first accused in the case. All the other accused in the case except him are absconding.
