Kerala to buy two bullet proof cars
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government has decided to buy two bullet proof cars. The new cars will be used to provide security to Chief Minister who belongs to the Z Plus security category.
The vehicles will also be used for the travel of others eminent personalities visiting the state and requiring high security cover.
It is known that the Intelligence agencies have advised Chief Minister to use bullet proof cars.
At present, Kerala Police is in possession of three Tata Safari cars with bullet proof facilities. The new cars will be Mitsubishi Pajero vehicles.
Most of the Chief Ministers use bullet proof cars in the country. As per the rules, they are directed to use these vehicles as per Z Plus category. But in Kerala, this has been not followed until now.
At present, the Tata Safari vehicles are used to take the 'Z Plus category' personalities coming to the state. Two of these are in Kochi and one in Thiruvananthapuram.
The new vehicles will be used in Thiruvananthapuram.
