Chengannur: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said Sunday that ‘unbiased politics’ will decide the outcome of the Chengannur by-elections. The poll verdict will be the appraisal of the governance, he opined.

Kummanam noted that it is not the Left which dethroned the Oommen Chandy-government which was neck-deep in corruption. It was the impartial scrutiny of the people of Kerala that unseated them.

Identifying this scope, the LDF came to power by promising to set everything right. However, the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government forgot all its promises after assuming charge, he said.

The public is reeling under the misrule of the Left government, Kummanam alleged. The state is nose-diving into huge debt trap. All development projects are either abandoned or halted. The situation is such that the state has to depend upon loans for its day-to-day requirements, the BJP chief said.

He also accused the Left government of eliminating its political opponents, instead of eliminating the poverty and unemployment. Kummanam said if there is an improvement, it is only in the number of murders or crime against women.
