If ‘Hindustan’ is communal, CM must change his name first: Kummanam
Kozhikode: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said on Monday that if Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan thinks the name ‘Hindustan’ is communal, then he should first change his name.
Kummanam was reacting to Pinarayi’s remarks that ‘Hindustan’ is a name that depicted communalism through his latest Facebook post.
Vijayan is another name of Arjuna, a close friend of Lord Krishna as depicted in epic Mahabharata. The name reminds us of Lord Krishna and this is an ‘insult’ to a Communist leader like Pinarayi.
He also reminded the Kerala CM that the name of an early collective of which Communist leader S A Dange was a working member was ‘Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan’. Karl Marx used to refer to India as ‘Hindustan’ in his speeches and writings. It was Muhammad Iqbal who penned “Sare Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara”, Kummanam said.
