High court stays suspension of Farook college student
Kochi: The High Court has stayed the suspension of the student who reacted against gender bias in Farook college. The court also ordered the authorities to take back the student.
The college had witnessed tension after a teacher asked some girls and boys to go out of the class for sitting together. The teacher was angry because some girls and boys sat together in the same bench.
The incident evoked large scale protests later and prominent people in political and cultural fields criticised the action taken by the college authorities.
However, the college took the stance that all such actions was ruining the reputation of the college.
The college officially suspended a student called Dinu, after the students were not ready to submit an apology letter. The present High Court order is to take back the suspended student.
