pyleeKochi: Dr M V Pylee, an eminent educationist and former Vice Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) passed away at a private hospital here on Saturday. He was 95.

Dr Pylee, who is a popular educationist in India and foreign countries, was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2006.

He had taught at universities in Lucknow, Patna, Delhi and Kerala. He had also served at the foreign universities like Harvard, Pennsylvaniya, Moscow and Hawai. He was the head of the Administrative Staff College at Hyderabad.

Dr Pylee, a pioneer in management studies had found School of Management studies in CUSAT. The emeritus professor was also awarded the National Research professorship.

The body of Dr. Pylee will be brought to his residence near Women’s ITI, Kalamassery, at 10.30 a. m. on Sunday. The body will be taken to his home at Oonnukal, near Kothamangalam, at 8 am. on Monday. The funeral will be held a Little Flower Forane Church, Oonnukal, at 2.30 p.m on Monday.
